Mirror's Edge is real (and in Japan!)

These photos of the flood drainage system beneath the Tokyo area are not just reminiscent of Mirror's Edge. It seems like the Mirror's Edge team cribbed whole levels from these photos. Looking at them, I want to wallrun!Hat tip: metafilter.

Boston Molasses Disaster: We Remember

91 years ago today, an enormous molasses container broke, unleashing a torrent of angry and delicious destruction upon Boston. It was the Boston Molassacre.

Let's all just pause for a minute and appreciate life. In remembrance of the fallen and revenge on the sweet and sticky substance, I will be obtaining some molasses this weekend to make gingerbread cookies.
